The traditional Japanese cleaver Nakiri from the Blacksmith series is a special kitchen knife for vegetables. It is ideal for finely chopping and cutting. The blackened blade of a knife looks like a lunar surface, full of with craters. It creates a special air cushion when cutting and prevents sticking of pieces of vegetables to the blade. This greatly facilitates the work whether you are a professional chef or just a culinary amateur.
The kitchen knife from the Samura Blacksmith series has an unusual, brutal design. A forged blade made of AUS-8 steel is hand-finished, blackened and given a relief texture reminiscent of the lunar surface with numerous craters. Such a coating has not only a design, but also a practical purpose - the recesses play the role of "air pockets" that prevent the slices from sticking to the blade when cutting. The blade is made of durable steel, brought to a hardness of 58 HRC and sharpened on water stones to razor sharpness. The Samura knife does not need to be sharpened for a long time, due to the high stability of the cutting edge.
The handle of the Samura knife is made of a wear-resistant composite - black micarta. It is pleasant to the touch, looks expensive and stylish. In addition, the material is completely hygroscopic - it does not absorb moisture and odors, it is not afraid of exposure to household chemicals, high and low temperatures. The blade shank runs along the entire length of the handle, which gives the product strength and reliability, protection against breakage and loosening.
